Allusions of Grandeur

Written by Carolyn Shelby

I saw Rand in the lounge at the Hilton yesterday at SES and it prompted me to start telling a friend about a link I got from the SEOMoz blog to my blog. Somehow “what anchor text does the link have?” came up and I chuckled and said, “It’s just the word alluded.” So out of curiosity today (just now), I googled the word “alluded” and I rank #6 out of 5,690,000 for it 🙂

  1. … so you spent lots of time optimizing for this term, right? You did all you know… and now it paid off… 😉

yeah, it is weird how it sometimes works. I think it has to do with freshness of content and the fact that it is on a blog post.

    Just my 2 cents.

  2. I think it totally has to do with the anchor text and the fact that the SEOMoz blog is so well-linked/popular. Also, I didn’t do anything… totally random stuff that was just interesting to note. 🙂
