The pictures help so much - Sometimes those huge pie chart style in bound marketing graphics are just too much to digest and hurt the head of newbies! Ace - I'm going to canvas print this across the back wall! I know this post was made over 2 years ago - but how can I get hold of an original graphic?

I've been building a website using Wordpress as the CMS and a Thesis theme. I've been nervous about the switch and this will be really helpful.
Also, you gave a great review of SEO basics and tactis at PubCon in Austin. You led off the Monday SEO Training where I sat front and center. Am putting it all into play now - Thanks!

This is exactly the task I’m about to undertake – my business website is on Drupal which I don’t have time for the learning curve. You can put more things in it and make it valuable or you can keep them and do something, like support your other primary sites with links.

People need to start seeing domains as an asset. Sometimes I still type iflyswa.com instead of southwest.com. Another case for redirects instead of abandoning the site..even if you magically have all of your inlinks pointing to the new site, you have people with bookmarks and people that remember old URLs but not their mother's birthday going to your old domain.

Remembering obscure domain names years after they’ve been redirected happens too. But rebuilding a non-profit organisation is a bad thing, I agree.

This is just how the business goes.
